Download this page along with the Notes and Memory Usage as a Microsoft Word file "Notes.doc" for best printing.  This file is included on the disks that come with the MSP and with all driver downloads.

  1. Input Installation. An MSP Input module can be wired directly to the GLC input. Make sure that the GLC input module and MSP input get their 24 VDC from the same source. Following is a schematic of a typical input. "X?" may be any valid input. In the driver library Channel 1 and 2 are X0 and X1 respectively but may be changed if desired. Not that in ladder logic the input is negated to provide the proper logic sense.

  2. Output Installation. An MSP Output module can be wire directly to the GLC output with a pull-up resistor. This resistor should be 1K and tied between the discrete output signal and +24 VDC. Make sure that the GLC output module and MSP output get their 24 VDC from the same source. Following is a schematic of a typical output. "Y?" may be any valid input. In the driver library Channel 1 and 2 are Y0 and Y1 respectively but may be changed if desired. Not that in ladder logic the output is negated to provide the proper logic sense.
